Easy Operation No Special Tools or Pitchfork Required

Many people simply do not have the time or desire to turn their compost pile with a pitchfork every weekend. Other compost bins require tools to manually turn, or aerate the compost.  The Urban Compost Tumbler is different because of its central aeration feature. Tumblers without this feature, usually develop a slime ball in the middle, which you have to reach in and break it up by hand. Because of the aeration tube, baffles on the side of the barrel and cross bars in the center you won't have to reach into the middle of the compost to break up the ball. The Urban Compost Tumbler has an exceptionally sturdy and stable stand allowing it to be rotated with the heavier loads.

It is recommended that you have a 3'x3'x3' pile in the open to generate the heat required to compost properly. The Urban Compost Tumbler is insulated to retain any heat that is generated by the pile or warming by the sun. The black color aids in heat retention by attract the warm sunlight.
